Yoga in the silks helps to decompress the spine, increases core strength and balance, and provides the action of pulling, a movement lacking in the traditional yoga practice. Aerial yoga also deepens the stretches, relieves joint pressure and spinal compression that floor workouts can trigger, releases physical tension, increases balance and body awareness, improves breath awareness, releases endorphins (our feel-good hormones), and provides easy access to inversions.
